Minho found it very difficult to actually put operation leech in to motion. Onew didn't want him around, just as he had predicted.

Actually, Onew was thoroughly pissed that Minho had continued to show up to his dorm every day and all day through out the weekend. The minute Minho had followed in after Key on that Saturday afternoon, Onew had rolled his eyes and walked the opposite way of him. Both Key and Jonghyun had given Minho strong high-fives before Minho had dived in to action. He broke in to Onew's room and sat with the biggest smile he could muster while Onew out right ignored him.

And when Onew had tried to escape him by going to a small coffee shop on campus, Minho had followed. He even went and bought Onew a coffee and drew a heart on it to make the older man smile. Onew hadn't touched the coffee or even glanced at it.

When Onew retired from studying and went back to his dorm, Minho followed. He attempted to make conversation, but Onew immaturely turned on his iPod and put his volume on full blast.

Minho offered to buy both Onew and Jonghyun dinner. Onew had bluntly told him to “Get the fuck out already.” and then Minho had said he'd order a crispy chicken meal for three.

Onew yanked at his hair in frustration and actually screamed and ran in to his room.

On Sunday morning, Minho was already present before Onew woke up. And he accompanied the older man to brunch around noon. Minho could tell it just irked Onew that whenever he needed something, like a napkin or when he forgot a spoon, Minho showed up with perfect timing and had what Onew needed. It wasn't like he could ignore a simple napkin. So he'd snatch it with out thanks and continue to ignore Minho.

“You like me~” Minho would taunt through out the day, and he could see how Onew's nose twitched that it was making him want to turn around and scratch the younger boy. But alas he never did.

Minho had almost spent the night on Sunday, but he feared for Onew's sanity as the older man's eyes went ablaze with rage at the very thought of Minho sleeping with in the same four walls as him.

But he'd made sure to show up bright on early on Monday morning before Onew's class with a small tupperware full of freshly cut fruit and a to-go cup of orange juice prepared along with his best smile.

He smile even wider when Onew's eyes turned in to very thin slits of fury. He looked like he wanted to cry and scream at the same time. But he just pushed past Minho with out a word and began to walk to his class. Which didn't help, because Minho kind of knew his schedule by heart. Minho knew he had plenty of time to see Onew to class, grab a hot coffee of his own at the library cafe, and still had fifteen minutes to walk to his own class.

So he followed like an obedient leech, and made sure to follow Onew all the way to his seat in his class. He ignored all the questioning stares of upperclassmen. With a light step, he plopped down to a seething Onew and happily placed the fruit and juice on his desk.

“Go. Away. “ Onew growled.

“I just wanted to make sure you got breakfast!” Minho chided and took the liberty of placing a green bendy straw in Onew's juice.

“I don't want your juice or your fruit. Take it away.” Onew pushed the food and cup to the edge of his desk, trying to get Minho to take it back.

“By Hyung! See you after class!” Minho called and skipped out of the class, ignoring Onew's protests all the way.

He'd done this for about a month. For a whole month he had sucked the life out of Onew. He'd been there to pick him up from every class, and walked him to all them as well. He'd spent every hour after school with him either in his dorm, in the library, or at one of the two cafe's Onew usually went to. He did his best not to disturb the older boy when he was actually studying. He noticed that once Onew fell in to his studying mode, you just weren't suppose to enter that zone. It was like an infant taking a nap or something. If Minho dared to try and distract Onew, he would receive a fit worse than a 2 year old's. He had learned this after the third day of leeching Onew. When Onew had slammed his books down and began to scream curses at Minho in the small cafe, and then proceeded to kick Minho in the shin and follow it by a quick thwap to the head, Minho had learned his lesson.

So he stopped trying to pull Onew out of studying. He figured it was just another way to show Onew that Minho could in fact change. He could be more responsible, and study right along with him. Although he kind of didn't study and instead stared at Onew's cuteness the whole time. Like the way he nibbled on the pen he was holding, and the way he subconsciously bit his lip when he turned a page. Cuteness. And Minho fell for the older man even more if that was possible.

Onew didn't like just any historical dramas, he liked ones with zero to no love scenes. On Thursday and Friday nights when Onew sat down with a bowl of cereal to watch his dramas, Minho had sat on the couch next to him and joined in watching the drama. He liked he action, and the handsome men (it was obvious the way his eyes lit up) but he did not like any of the romance that went on. Minho noticed that whenever a couple was confessing their love, or if there was a hint of affection in any case, Onew's whole body would stiffen. His jaw would set in place, his nostrils would flare a bit, and his brow would scrunch. He saw the way Onew's eyes would swarm with such strong emotion. He could see the anger and hostility that lined his brow. He could sense the fear and how uncomfortable he was with the stiffness of his jaw. And the frustration that blew out of his nose in small huffs.

But he noticed the sadness in his eyes. The tears that were too far off to be brimming at the edges. The overbearing pain that Onew would swallow when a couple in the drama kissed.

He had figured out why Onew didn't like romance, and had discovered something that told a little bit about Onew's past as well.

“Is it because she's ugly?” Minho had tried one night as he noticed that the older boy had once again gone in to dislike mode. The lead actor had just grabbed the lead actress, and smothered her with an unforgiving kiss. And Minho had once again noticed Onew's whole body language change.

“What are you talking about?” Onew had answered with no attitude surprisingly.

“You don't like it that they're kissing. That they are in love. Is it because you don't like her? Or them as a couple?” Minho didn't miss Onew roll his eyes in irritation. He was irritated that Minho had noticed, points for him.

“No.” Onew huffed, his hand purposefully scooping a large amount of cereal to stuff in to his mouth.

“No what?” Minho pushed. He waited for Onew to finish chewing the large portion in his mouth.

“I..don't...not like the kissing...or the love or whatever.” Onew sighed, his head tilting to the side. The couple in the drama were now promising to get married, no matter what the king said.

“I just know the truth.” his voice was sad as he murmured this.

“What do you know?” Minho tried. His heart was beating a little faster, knowing that Onew just might be opening up to him. Just a small opening. But that was a freaking break through for them. In the back of his mind he noted that he was actually having a conversation with Onew, and Onew wasn't cussing him out or drenching Minho with sarcasm.

“I know...that...” Onew took a deep breath before continuing, “I know that it won't last. These things never do. Even if they show them together at the end of the drama, we don't see what comes after. We don't know if they truly stay together forever. Especially this drama, look at them,” Onew motioned the television screen, “the king doesn't want them to be together. And he swears that he loves her. But in the end, he is going to turn his back on her.”

Minho had a feeling he wasn't talking about the drama anymore. He worried at how worked up Onew was getting from his words. He could see how the past was playing before his eyes. A past that obviously made Onew who he was today.

“He is going to use her, swear he loves her, and then turn his back for his reputation. That's what they always do. This stupid girl should see it coming though. How can she trust him? Didn't her mother leave her? And her father? Isn't she technically and orphan? She must have learned something when she was young. Didn't she notice that people don't always stick around? That you can't just trust people like that?” Onew's breath was becoming ragged, and the tears were pushing their way out. How long had he held all of this in?

“He is going to leave her. All for his reputation. Because what people think of him will be so much more important than her heart. Well maybe she needs to go through that. Maybe she needs to learn that people can betray you, they can hurt you. They can raise you, and give you hugs and kisses, and then leave you like you are nothing. People can take your most precious gift, shower you with fake affection and give you hope that you have someone who will understand and love you. And then they can turn around, dump you, ignore you, and pretend you don't exist. They can do that. You can't trust people. All they do is hurt you. They don't care, they don't love. They only hurt.” Onew's voice was shaking, the tears were gentle and silent as they glided down his warm cheeks.

“Who hurt you?” Minho asked in a soft voice. Curiosity consuming him, because this could be the key to having Onew open his heart to him.

Onew's eyes pulled away from the past, his eyes sinking down to settle on Minho's worried face. Because that's all that Minho was at the moment, worried. Worried of how damaged Onew was, worried that Onew would never be able to let someone love him, worried for Onew. Wanting to comfort Onew in every way possible.

And Onew opened his mouth, and he tried to tell Minho who exactly had done all of these thing to him. He tried, and choked in to a sobbing mess. Minho watched the agony crumple Onew's features.

He pushed away every thought of how much the older boy didn't ever want Minho touching him, and scooted closer, pulling Onew in to his arms.

His heart gave a loud thump when Onew wrapped his arms around Minho's neck. He pulled the younger boy closer, trying to squish his face as far as possible in to Minho's shoulder. The tears didn't stop for awhile. But Minho didn't mind. He just wanted to be there for Onew, he wanted to show him that he was right by his side.

“You know you seem to have little erratic rants whenever you actually talk to me.” Minho murmured in to Onew's neck. He didn't miss the way the older man shivered a tiny bit. He carefully continued to hug Onew, waiting for the older man to settle down.

When they pulled back, Minho smiled affectionately at his little nerd. He looked even more adorable than before. His thick glasses has slid down to the tip of his now pink nose. His red eyes were still moist, and his bottom lip was sticking out in the cutest way. Minho naturally reached out to push a strand of hair that was in Onew's eyes. The older man didn't pull away or protest. Minho wondered if this was the moment where he had finally rubbed off on him.

“I wouldn't hurt you, not in a million years.” Minho said.

This, was the wrong thing to say. Minho seemed to always say the wrong things at the right times.

The second he finished his sentence, Onew's eyes seemed to snap out of some kind of trance.

“What did you say?” Onew asked, the harsh tone hidden in his words. Minho was taken aback by the sudden change. Suddenly Onew jumped to the far end of the couch, away from Minho, his eyes in a small panic.

“What did you just say to me?” he asked with more force. Minho wasn't sure if he should actually repeat what he'd said. He was also completely shocked at how fast Onew could go from opening up to Minho, letting the younger boy hold him, and with one sentence he was back to his old self. Only this time he wasn't just pushing Minho away, he was shoving him.

What did you say?!” Onew yelled, and Minho's body reacted and arched back at the force.

“I...said...that I wouldn't hurt you...not in a million years.” Minho whispered carefully.

Onew manically ran his hands through his hair, trying to breath, trying to keep calm.

“Get out. Now.” Onew gasped for air and headed to his room.

“Onew, what hap—“

“I said GET OUT.” Onew screamed, and Minho jumped at the bang of the door slamming shut.

Well, he had thought he had gotten somewhere. He thought he had done something nice, for Onew to see how much he cared. He thought he had finally said something that might make Onew see how much Minho cared. That he was sincere.

As Minho made his way back to his dorm building, he tried to go over what had happened. What had made Onew suddenly flip out? He dissected his sentence in every way possible, but nothing came up. He had said something to assure Onew that Minho was trying to love him, care for him. And then Onew had gone crazy and thrown Minho out.

He then played Onew's emotional confession through his head. Knowing that Onew wasn't talking about some character's in the drama. And then he tried to dissect Onew's words about how people had hurt him. They had hugged and kissed him and then left him. They had left him to save their reputation.

Minho decided to give his brain a rest, and dialed the person he knew could tell him.

“Hi froggyprince!” Key's voice hummed in to the receiver.

“Hey Key, can I ask you a question?” Minho answered.

“Go for it!”

“Its about Onew's past...” Minho warned.

“...oh...” Key's happy tone fell immediately.

“I just, well...you don't have to tell me everything. But, well me and him kind of had a moment tonight. And I'm pretty sure he accidentally confessed to being hurt by someone in the past...” Minho waited, but Key didn't respond with anything. Hearing the older boy breathing on the other end, he continued.

“Is Onew an orphan? Was he abandoned when he was younger?” Minho said in a rush. He knew he'd pushed the right button. The small sigh that echoed out of his phone told him so.

“Look, if I tell you this, you can't let Onew know that you know. Let him tell you on his own. Okay? Promise?” Key urged.

“I promise.” Minho said.

“So...I can't tell you everything. But, Onew was left at my house when he was twelve. And his parent just never came back for him.”

Minho felt his stomach drop to the floor, and his heart skip a beat.
